Cost effective production of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis using chemically pre-treated rice straw

چکیده

Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis is the leading biopesticide in world due to its specificity and lack of toxicity. The use Bti still restricted developing countries bioprocess complications high cost production. In present study we have shown that lignocellulosic agro waste residues like rice straw can be used as effective substrates with appropriate chemical treatment methods. We compared untreated straw, pre-treated gives better biomass production, also shows less sporulation time, which turn reduced larval killing time part larvicidal assay. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) has proven a delignifying agent Calcium (CaOH). It found supplementation medium fish slurry enhances production case both NaOH CaOH. This enhancement visible when chicken feather hydrolysate Nitrogen supplement, although it not hydrolysate.

Antibacterial activity of Cyt1Aa from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis.

Cyt1Aa is a delta-endotoxin protein that is produced by Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis. It is a membrane pore-forming toxin that is lethal to insect larvae and is broadly cytolytic to vertebrate as well as invertebrate cells. Cyt1Aa is produced as a protoxin of 27 kDa. Proteolytic activation results in a reduction of the molecular mass to approximately 23-24 kDa and a threefold incre...

Oral toxicity of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis to adult mosquitoes.

The solubilized entomotoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis killed adult male and female mosquitoes of several genera and of various physiological states when it was administered orally. Adult mosquito mortality was further influenced when the preparation was contained in sucrose solution. The potential implication for the control of adult mosquitoes is discussed.

Minireplicon from pBtoxis of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis.

A 2.2-kb fragment containing a replicon from pBtoxis, the large plasmid that encodes the insecticidal endotoxins of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis, was identified, cloned, and sequenced. This fragment contains cis elements, including iterons, found in replication origins of other large plasmids and suggests that pBtoxis replicates by a type A theta mechanism. Two genes, pBt156 and pB...

Structural relatedness between mosquitocidal endotoxins of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis.

A mosquitocidal toxin gene, cloned from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis, was introduced into mutant crystal-negative B. thuringiensis subsp. israelensis cells. Partial toxicity to mosquitos was restored. The 58-kilodalton cloned gene product is a minor protein component of B. thuringiensis subsp. israelensis crystals and is structurally related to a major, 135-kilodalton crystal toxin.

Biological Control of Mosquito Larvae by Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis

Chemical insecticides provide many benefits to food production and human health and has proven very effective at increasing agriculture and forestry productivities. However, they also pose some hazards as contamination of water and food sources, poisoning of non-target fauna and flora, concentration in the food chain and selection of insect pest populations resistent to the chemical insecticide...
